University Place Veterinary Hospital is looking to add a full-time Veterinary Receptionist to our team. This key role is responsible for supporting our clients and patients by providing great customer service in person, over the phone, through text, and via email. Throughout the day, our reception team keeps our team running smoothly by following our balanced scheduling protocols, using our interoffice chat program to notify our team of arrivals, and taking payments through an integrated payment system that offers payment via text, email, card, or manual entry.
Our typical day consists of 30 minute appointments with each doctor having an assigned skilled assistant for the day, an hour during which our phones turn off and the doors are locked so that all of our team can enjoy lunch onsite OR offsite, an additional 30 minute buffer before appointments resume to allow for catchup time and callbacks, then after an afternoon of appointments, leaving for the day on time being the norm. We have 30 minute department and all staff meetings scheduled on a 4-week-rotating schedule, enjoy periodic lunch & learns to stay on top of new products and treatments, and love to celebrate our staff!.
Our doctors and support staff all take advantage of 4 day work weeks. We are closed on weekends and 6 major holidays. We are open 8-6 Monday-Friday and do not offer any after-hours or on-call services.
The perfect addition to our team would bring a joy for learning new skills and information related to veterinary medicine for professional and personal growth; would have a strong sense of satisfaction in the completion of tasks and of having follow-through with clients and patients; would be adaptable to the natural ebbs and flows of business throughout the day and have the ability to change emotional gears to match the needs of the current client facing them. They should also have the ability to work independently, as well as enjoy being part of a team.
Preferred Experience: Experience in an animal care setting, with Avimark software, and with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
The emotional and physical wellbeing of our employees is important to us. We offer competitive compensation, medical benefits (including health, dental and vision), 401(k), training and so much more.
We would love to tell you more. Apply to Katrina at kmegrath@vetcor.com.
